Our eastern sierra photography workshops take place in some of the world’s most scenic and photogenic locales, the magnificent landscape of the Eastern Sierra. "it seemed to me that the Sierra should be called not the Nevada or Snowy Range, but The Range of Light" - John Muir

Workshops are open to all levels of photographers and all types of equipment from 35mm to large format, film and/or digital, or smartphones. We will be completely immersed with photography for 4 days of shooting, learning, and fun.   Workshops are operated under permit from The Inyo National Forest. We make sure all our workshops are insured and permitted and we also maintain our First Aid training and update it annually. Our Eastern Sierra Photography workshops have two goals: First- to help you become a better photographer; Second- to help you capture the best pictures possible in the conditions. We’ll be out in the field shooting while also making time to review and critique our work. There is always time for learning new tips and techniques. Whether it's composition, exposure, metering, or digital workflow, we aim to answer all your questions. You get the added benefit of our local knowledge. Having lived and worked in the eastern sierra most of our lives we may have options to visit a few of our "secret" locations. Weather and time permitting these off-the-beaten paths offer opportunities for wildlife viewing and capturing unique images.     We begin on Thursday afternoons so we can take advantage of the sunset and possibly night photography if conditions are right. We’ll be out for sunrise Friday & Saturday mornings with a mid-day break for editing, critique, lunch, and "maybe" some rest. We’re back out each evening shooting Sunset and wrap up the weekend shooting sunrise Sunday morning. We’ll do some final editing and critiquing late morning Sunday then send you on your way full of new ideas, tips, and techniques that will make you a better photographer.
